    Who we are...

    The Birth & Foster Parent Partnership is designed to further Casey Family Program’s (CFP's) 2020 goals focused on the safe reduction of the number of youth in foster care. Its purpose is to increase coordination between birth parents and foster parent caregivers for improved permanency outcomes.

    The partnership is managed through a collaboration between the National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds (Alliance), Youth Law Center Quality Parenting Initiative (YLC/QPI) and CFP.

    Short and Long Term Impacts

    • Increased involvement of birth parents and foster parents in advocacy for improved policies and practices that benefit families and childden.
    • Identification of strategies to help birth parents and foster parents work together to facilitate reunification and prevent re-entry.
    • Increased capacity of child welfare systems to recruit and retain foster parents willing and able to partner with birth parents.
